Rush
Rush this semester was very successful and tons of fun! Recruitment started early with quite a few members attending E2 camp over the summer and handing out information to incoming freshman. Once the school year started we kicked off strong with a free barbeque on campus where we gave away hotdogs and hamburgers to engineering students. In addition to the usual information meetings, game night, and speed interviews, several new events were added. For the first time, Delta Gamma chapter had an egg drop competition requiring actives and rushees to work together to successfully drop eggs off the life sciences bridge on campus. The winning design was created by active member, Teagan Lestar! All participants had a lot of fun and got a piece of the prize at the end. Another new event was our tour of the Tgen facility here in Phoenix, where the rushees were able to learn about groundbreaking genomics research and ask a senior researcher questions about getting involved with companies like Tgen. To finish off the jam packed two weeks the chapter gave out 19 bids and invited all the future pledges to a spaghetti dinner cooked by the Vice Regent. Twelve pledges were pinned resulting in one of the largest pledge classes in our chapters recent history.
