Q: What is the difference between a professional Fraternity, a social fraternity, and a honor society?
A:

A professional fraternity integrates the Brotherhood and social interaction of asocial fraternity, and the academics and professionalism of a honor society.

Q: What are the membership requirements?
A:

You must be 18 years of age or older, not within 6 months of graduation, pursuing an accredited engineering degree (not technology unfortunately), have a G.P.A. greater than 2.00, and not belong to any competing fraternities.

Q: How do I become a member of Theta Tau?
A:

Following rush, prospective members are given an invitation (bid). Those that accept the bid enter a nine week pledge period. Upon successful completion candidates become initiates into Theta Tau.

Q: Does Theta Tau participate in hazing?
A:

Following Arizona State University guidelines, Theta Tau does not participate in any events that could violate a person’s moral values or beliefs.

Q: What are the fees required to pledge?
A:

For the pledging semester: $75 Due the week of February 4th. Initiation fees: $TBA(includes Members Badge and dinner) Due the week of TBA

Q: How long is the pledging period, and what is required?
A:

The pledge period is nine weeks in duration. The pledging requirements are basically to interview each active member 1 on 1, learn information pertinent to the fraternity,pass a test, complete a pledge project, and involve yourself.

Q: What are the basic demographics of the fraternity?
A:

The fraternity is currently composed of [total_actives] actives, [male_actives] males and [female_actives] females. The engineering fields of Chemical, Electrical, Civil, Biomedical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Aerospace, and Industrial are all represented, at the sophomore to senior levels.
